Welcome to the new Sansonina blog!
In early 2019, Nadia Zenato asked American wine blogger Jeremy Parzen to create a blog devoted to Sansonina, Zenato’s newest estate and home to some of the winery’s top wines, the Sansonina Merlot, its Evaluna (a Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blend), and its wild yeast-fermented Lugana.
Even though we call it one of the winery’s newest estates, it’s actually one of its oldest. Some of the vines planted are more than 40 years old. The Zenato family acquired the property in the 1990s. But they only began releasing wines from this magical parcel a few years ago. And it won’t be long before they open the property’s new winery, tasting room, and guest rooms. The winery was designed by celebrated Italian architect Giovanni Bo.
Jeremy Parzen is a leading U.S.-based English-language wine writer and educator who focuses on Italian wine.
He’ll be writing here about Sansonina wines, of course. But he’ll also be sharing posts about the Zenato family, their newly launched Zenato Academy, and Veneto and Lugana history and culture in general.
Stay tuned for more soon.
