This wine was inspired by our deep connection to Lake Garda. We wanted to share our land’s unique terroir with the world by producing a wine made using the best grapes from one of Lugana’s oldest vineyards, the Vigna del Moraro Verde. In order to achieve this, we employed ancient vinification methods with a focus on spontaneous fermentation using ambient yeast.
A wine intended for long-term aging, it rewards the wine lover with rich minerality imparted from the soil and balanced roundness on the palate. Its distinct character on the nose delivers notes of white flowers and ripe yellow fruit that evoke the aromas of the grapes at harvest.
“My guide for this project,” says Nadia, “was the deep connection to the land and my love for this appellation, something I inherited from my father, Sergio, a true maestro. At every step, I asked myself, ‘what would my father do?'”
Made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, Evaluna is an example of Lago di Garda’s extraordinary terroir and its enormous potential to produce great reds. Fresh, refined, elegant, and wonderfully approachable, the wine delivers the classic complexity of these international grape varieties while maintaining its local character. The name is inspired by the figure of Eve (Eva in Italian) from the Bible, the first woman, and the moon (luna), a symbol of femininity. Both are forces of creation, mystery and inspiration, a direct link between the earth and the heavens.
“We each brought our own perspectives to this project,” says Carla Prospero, “but we always had the same shared goal: Our desire to build this winery in line with our family’s deepest held values.”
The Sansonina vineyard was born thanks to a careful selection of a series of Merlot clones that produce a structured wine with immense cask- and bottle-aging potential. Sansonina is an enchanting and velvety wine, elegant and perfectly balanced. Intense ruby red in color, its notes of raspberry and blueberry are complemented by balsamic hints on the nose. On the palate, the wine is refined, dry, and savory, with mineral notes — a reflection of the unique terroir where it is grown.
“Sansonina is a representation of who I am,” says Nadia. “It has solid roots and experience in the appellation. But it also has the drive to experiment and reach even higher heights. It’s a place that evokes and inspires beauty, a sense of style, and art.”
